I live in Mason City, Iowa, with my husband, Johnathan, and our daughter, Hattie. I grew up in this area and moved back because my husband and I love this community. We’re HUGE Music Man fans and love the culture and special events North Iowa has to offer.

I received my Bachelor’s of Art and Design from Iowa State University in 2004. After taking Writing for the Web (a throw-away class in my last summer term), I fully expected to learn the joys of blogging online. Easy peasy. But when I arrived, I quickly realized it was writing code and how to develop a website. But! I immediately fell in love with the process and began studying HTML and CSS on my own. With more training at a later job (Php and MySQL), I began developing WordPress websites in 2012. The rest is uninteresting history.

In my spare time, I remain involved with the community and shop local. I create mixed-media art for my Etsy store, Ashley Morrison Studio, and I coach with the North Iowa Figure Skating Club here in Mason City. If I’m feeling brave, I write in my spare time and maybe play a game or two of pickleball.
